FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention performs switching, in the display drive circuit of a charge-coupled liquid crystal display device, between a driving mode with change of direction every two rows (2H), where polarity of the data signal (S) transmitted to the source line changes every two horizontal scanning periods, and a driving mode with change of direction every row (1H), where polarity of the data signal (S) transmitted to the source line changes every horizontal scanning period. The polarity signal (CMI) changes polarity every two horizontal scanning periods in the driving mode with change of direction every two rows (2H), and changes polarity every horizontal scanning period in the driving mode with change of direction every row (1H).
EFFECT: switching between driving methods in order to improve rate of charge and reduce power consumption.
