SUBSTANCE: in the method, when video signal resolution is converted with a coefficient n (where n is a number equal to or greater than 2), signal potentials of the same polarity and same gray level are applied along columns on pixel electrodes which correspond to n adjacent scanning signal lines and are adjacent each other along the columns; the direction of change of signal potentials recorded in pixel electrodes from data transmission signal lines are changed every n adjacent rows in accordance with polarities of the signal potentials.
EFFECT: high quality of display owing to elimination of alternating bright and dark cross-bands arising when a video signal with a converted resolution is transmitted to the device.
