FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: strip is passed through pool with melt containing 0.2-8 wt % of aluminium and magnesium at the following ratio: 0.1-8 wt % of magnesium at aluminium content of at least 0.2 wt % but smaller than 2 wt %, or larger than 5 wt%, but not over 8 wt % of magnesium at content of aluminium of at least 2 wt %, but not over 8 wt %, and up to 0.3 wt % of dopants, zinc and unavoidable impurities making the rest. Then, said strip is straightened using gas with oxidizing capacity smaller than that of atmospheres consisting of 4 vol. % of oxygen and 96 vol. % of nitrogen. Then, said strip is passed through insulating zone confined from below by straightening line and top outer surfaces of straightening nozzles and, from above, by top part of two insulating boxes arranged at both sides of the strip, directly above said nozzles, in height of at least 10 cm relative to straightening line, and on sides of said insulating boxes. Atmosphere in insulating zone features oxidizing capacity lower than atmosphere consisting of 4 vol. % of oxygen and 96 vol. % of nitrogen and higher than that of atmosphere consisting of 0.15 vol. % of oxygen and 99.85 vol. % of nitrogen.
EFFECT: strip with antirust coat and better surface quality.
