FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: rail bond electrically insulating joint comprises a rail pad made of polymer material, joint composite cover plates, arranged at both sides of joined rails and having through holes for installation of fastening elements, and a system of magnetic shunting insulation (MSI) of a rail joint. The system of magnetic shunting insulation includes a set of magnetically conductive inserts of the internal circuit of the system, placed into gaps between joint composite cover plates and rail webs, and made in the form of plates with holes, dimensions and position of which match with appropriate holes in joint composite cover plates. The system of magnetically shunting insulation additionally includes magnetically conductive inserts of the external circuit of the system, which are installed on the outer sides of composite cover plates at the side of external and internal sides of the rail. Magnetically conductive inserts of the internal circuit and magnetically conductive inserts of the external circuit of the system of magnetically shunting insulation have an external layer made from polymer material and an internal core assembled from plates of core iron, magnetic permeability of which exceeds the magnetic permeability of rail steel.
EFFECT: reduced level of magnetisation in the area of end surface of rail heads, higher operational reliability of rail bond electrically insulating joints.
