FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: proposed shim plate is arranged between end faces of rails and joint shim plates and comprises head, web and foot. Said shim plate made from polyurethane with specific impedance making at least 10 MOhm·cm, and Shore hardness making at least 85. Shim plate features different magnetic permeability in the areas of head, web and foot, reducing from head to foot. Web magnetic permeability is 1.5 to 2.0 times smaller than that of the foot. Shim plate outline extends beyond rail foot outline, not constricted by joint shim plates, by 4 to 5 mm.

EFFECT: higher reliability of rail insulating joint.
