FIELD: railway transport; permanent way.
SUBSTANCE: proposed insulated rail joint has rail gasket with head, neck, foot, end and side surfaces made of insulating material and arranged between ends of butt rails. Fishplates arranged at both side of butt rails and clamped through necks of rails by fasteners. Rail gasket is provided with sections projecting beyond the limits of outline of cross section of butt rails. Layer of elastic material is found at least on end surfaces of neck of rail gasket, on section of end surface of its head corresponding to working surfaces of head of butt rails, and on sections of end surface of head and foot in contact with fishplates. Said layer of elastic material partly projects out of outline of cross section of head and foot of butt rails. Neck of rail gasket is made with form of end surfaces following form of fishplates surfaces pointed to end surfaces and with cross sizes providing contact of its end surfaces over entire length with corresponding fishplates and elastic deformation of layer of elastic material at clamping fishplates by fasteners to each other.
EFFECT: improved operation reliability of insulated rail joint.
