FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: modular borehole logging unit is a part of a drill string containing one or more borehole instruments and a drill pipe that consists of similar or different pieces. The unit includes the first module having one or more antennae. The first module has connectors on both ends, which have the possibility of being connected to the drill string, and the second module having one ore more antennae. The second module has connectors on both ends, which have the possibility of being connected to the drill string, as well as a rotating sensor provided on each first and second modules. The first module and the second module are equally spaced on the drill string; with that, one or more of one or more antennae of one or both modules have a dipole moment that is inclined or transversely directed. The unit application method involves transfer of electromagnetic energy to a formation using a transfer antenna in the logging unit, in which transfer is performed at a variety of frequencies in compliance with the chosen scheme of pulses, and determination on each of the variety of frequencies of a signal induced in a receiving antenna located at the distance from the transmitting antenna in the unit, relative azimuth angles are determined between antennae and a received signal is used for determination of the formation properties.
EFFECT: improving informativity during well survey; increasing the survey depth, possibility of creation of different configurations of instruments for different surveys.
