SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and system for optimizing production in a well. This method includes the steps of determining the location of the low specific resistivity fluid reservoirs in a geologic formation based on the calculation of the difference of the two electric current values, which correspond to different depths in the well, and optimize the development of the fluid reservoirs from the geologic formation based on the location determination by controlling at least one of the drilling parameter or production parameter.
EFFECT: technical result is the optimization of hydrocarbon production from the well.
