FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: in compliance with this invention this method comprises oxidation of uranium-molybdenum composition 750-850°C, dissolution of said composition in 2-3 molar solution of alkali at boiling point, separation of solution of solid residue by decantation, dissolution of solid residue in 4-6 molar nitric acid at boiling point, overrefining by oxalic acid solution in amount of 0.75-1.0 kg per 1 kg of uranium at 60-80°C for 30-40 min, flushing of uranyl oxalate residue with 2-3% solution of oxalic acid, separation of uranium-containing solid residue by filtration and annealing at 750-850°C.
EFFECT: higher quality of separation of molybdenum from uranium protoxide-oxide.
