FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: method for obtaining anisotropic petroleum pitch involves heat treatment of isotropic petroleum pitch in inert atmosphere at increased temperature and atmospheric pressure and further extraction of isotropic part of the obtained product with toluene under supercritical conditions, distillation of toluene and treatment of the obtained anisotropic pitch in ultrasonic field.
EFFECT: invention allows improving quality of target anisotropic pitch owing to increasing the content of mesophase in it, which is uniformly distributed throughout the pitch volume, and obtaining high-modulus fibres on its basis.
