FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: method for obtaining anisotropic petroleum pitch involves heat treatment of isotropic petroleum pitch in inert atmosphere at increased temperature of 350-450°C during 5-20 hours, pressure of 10-100 mm Hg, further extraction treatment of the obtained product with quinolone, distillation of extraction agent and treatment of the obtained anisotropic pitch in an ultrasonic field for removal of solvent traces.
EFFECT: invention allows improving quality of target anisotropic pitch owing to increasing content of mesophase in it, which is uniformly distributed throughout pitch volume and obtaining high-modulus carbon fibres based on it.
