SUBSTANCE: image signal is received from an image forming element in which a plurality of colour filters are arranged in a predetermined sequence and in which pixels corresponding to each colour filter are provided. Colour interpolation circuits (300, 350) in the colour difference signal generating circuit (104) split the image signal into image signals for each colour filter (R, G1, G2 and B) and interpolate image signals for each colour filter. In the target region, a false colour determining circuit (360) determines whether the target region is a region of high frequencies, at least from inclination in each image signal of filters G1 and G2 or difference in image signals of filters G1 and G2.
EFFECT: suppressing false colour and moire effect in the region of high frequencies.
