FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to air classifiers with cascade and centrifugal separation stages to be used in construction, mining, metallurgy, etc, for sizing loose material to three fractions. Air classifier consists of cascade sizing shaft composed of outer and inner walls shaped to rings in horizontal plane. It has slitted hole made in shaft inner wall, distributor arranged inside classifier to interact with said slitted hole. It includes initial material feed pipe arranged at classifier top section, coarse fraction discharge pipe arranged at cascade shaft bottom part. Its is equipped with rotary vanes arranged regularly at shaft top part to turn in vertical plane. Classifier hollow housing has air feed opening and pipe with unloader to discharge intermediate fraction. Pipe to discharge fine fraction along with air flow is located at hollow housing top part. Cascade shaft outer and inner walls feature zigzag like shape in vertical plane or cylindrical shape with circular inclined transfer shelves. Aforesaid distributor is shaped to cone or comprises disc with drive. Top part of shaft outer and inner walls is furnished with circular pockets. Rotary vanes have their sides located in said pockets.
EFFECT: higher separation efficiency.
