FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and can be used for production of precision tubes from zirconium and titanium and alloys thereof, stainless steels to be used at nuclear power plants as structural materials. Proposed method comprises hot forming of forged billet, its straightening, boring its inner opening, turning its outer surface, multipass cold rolling with crosswise redistribution of metal at deformation center, intermediate and final heat treatment. Forged billet boring is performed by cutting the metal preset-depth layer over the billet entire length at profiling the billet actual profile without increasing its wall thickness uniformity. Tool to this end comprises cutting tool coupled with stem and working part with hard-alloy inserts. There have guide chamfers and guides composed of resilient prismatic elements to center cutting tool at starting the boring. Said cutting tool has central bore and lubricant-coolant feed channels. Cutting tool is coupled with stem by articulated coupling or Oldham coupler.
EFFECT: higher quality of finished tubes and metal recovery.
