FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: polyester polyol contains a product of a reaction between: A) an aromatic component containing 80 mol % or more terephthalic acid; B) polyethylene glycol with molecular weight in the range of 160 to 1000; and C) a glycol other than glycol (B), with molecular weight less than 180. The amount of component A in the reaction mixture ranges from 20 to 60 wt %, the amount of component B ranges from 40 to 75 wt % and the amount of component C ranges from 5 to 40 wt %. The end polyol has a hydroxyl number from 200 to 400 and viscosity of less than 5000 mPa*s. The polyol composition contains 10 to 90 wt % of said polyester polyol and polyether polyol with functionality of 2 to 8 and molecular weight of 100 to 10000. The method of producing rigid foamed material involves reacting polyisocyanate with the polyol composition with isocyanate index of 90 to 400 in the presence of a foaming agent.
EFFECT: obtained polyester polyols have low viscosity and good fire resistance and are cheap to produce.
