HIGHLY FUNCTIONAL POLYESTER POLYOLS Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC C08G63/16 C08G63/183 C08G18/68 C08J9/04

Abstract RU 2629941 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: highly functional, moderate viscosity, aromatic polyester polyol substantially free of polyether polyol, suitable for use as a single polyol in production of polyurethane foams, which are characterized by category one in the tunnel test for fire resistance E-84. The said aromatic polyester polyol has functionality in the range of 2.8 to 3.2 and moderate viscosity in the range of 4.000 to 10.000 cps at 25°C inclusive, wherein the said polyol is produced by transesterification or esterification of a mixture comprising: 34-66% (w/w) of glycol, 24-34% (w/w) of terephthalate source, 5.02-17% (w/w) of glycerol, 0-14% (w/w) of pentaerythritol, 0-5% (w/w) of methyl glucoside, 0-10% (w/w) of sorbitol, and 0-15% (w/w) of natural vegetable oil, modified natural vegetable oil or fatty acid derivatives of vegetable oil. A composition for polyurethane foam production comprising: an A side component comprising a polyisocyanate and a B side component containing a catalyst, a surfactant, a flame retardant, a foaming agent and, in the main part, the above polyol component substantially free of a polyether polyol, is described. Also polyurethane foam containing the product of the above composition is described. A method for polyurethane foam application is described, comprising the steps of: provision of an A side component comprising a polyisocyanate and a B side component containing a catalyst, a surfactant, a flame retardant, a foaming agent and, in the main part, the above polyol component substantially free of a polyether polyol, preparation of the surface for foam application; reacting between the components of A side and B side and reacting components spraying onto the surface.

EFFECT: production of a highly functional aromatic polyester polyol with moderate viscosity.
