FIELD: heating.
SUBSTANCE: boiler has a temperature sensor for measurement of temperature (T) that is illustrative boiler liquid temperature. Deviations of temperature (T) measured with the temperature sensor are initiated in time. Evaluating temperature (Tev) reading taken with the temperature sensor after deviation initiation is determined. Liquid level is determined on the basis of at least evaluating temperature (Tev). Value of evaluating temperature (Tev) is determined by routine control of deviation and determination of extreme value (Tmax, Tmin) of deviation as evaluating temperature (Tev). In order to determine extreme value: a) maximum temperature between temperature rise and temperature drop is determined, or b) minimum temperature between temperature drop and temperature rise is determined. In addition, this invention refers to a steam-generating device adapted for implementation of such a method, as well as to domestic appliances having such steam-generating devices.
EFFECT: improvement of determination accuracy.
