FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to adsorption equipment to be used in gas (vapor)-adsorbent system. Particularly, to horizontal adsorber of intermittent action including cylindrical housing with covers and bottom. Spherical covers are arranged at the right and left of said cylindrical housing. Loading openings with safety membranes are arranged at housing top section. It incorporates union to discharge vapors in desorption and union for safety valve. Left cover accommodates union with distribution screen to feed vapor-air mix in adsorption and air in drying and cooling. Screen layer to support adsorbent layer is arranged at cover center on beams with support of collapsible fire grate. Note here that weight to prevent adsorbent transfer in desorption is placed on top screen covering adsorbent layer. Used adsorbent is discharged via at least two unloading openings in housing with its bottom accommodating inspection port with condensate discharge and water feed union and bubbler with steam feed union. Said bubbler extends over the entire length of the housing and is composed of at least one perforated tube secured to bottom surface by screw couplings. Bubbler cylindrical surface perforation factor makes K=0.5-0.9. Housing length L relates to its diameter D as L/D=1.5…5.0. Housing length L relates to its wall thickness S as L/S=300…1125. Adsorbent layer height H_l relates to said length as H_I/L=0.05…0.27. Note also that adsorbent is composed of balls with nonthrough radial grooves. Note that said recess feature cylindrical, conical, spherical or whatever surface of solid of revolution.
