FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to elevator systems and their installation. Elevator system comprises cabin, drive room to house traction mechanism mounted at the frame and at least one deflecting roller. Note here that traction mechanism incorporates fleet sheave and develops traction force to be transmitted via suspension to cabin. Elevator system comprises counterweight, first deflecting roller at elevator cabin and second deflecting roller at counterweight. Ratio between diameter of at least one deflecting roller and suspension thickness in direction perpendicular to rope driving pulley does not exceed 30:1. Suspension incoming and outcoming parts can be passed through appropriate passage in ceiling. Note here that deflecting rollers feature smaller diameter than fleet sheave. In compliance with proposed method, horizontal distance between cabin and counterweight is adjusted by varying the frame configuration. This results in change of distance between fleet sheave and at least one deflecting roller.
EFFECT: decreased overall dimensions, easier installation in elevator shaft.
