FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: method consists in addition of a binding agent to carrying material with high specific surface and having open porosity. Then, carrying material and binding agent are mixed till the carrying material is wetted enough with the binding agent. After that, a functional substance is added, which is partially received with the carrying material. Friction material includes carrying material with high open porosity, which is wetted with a binding agent and onto which a functional substance is applied or to which a functional substance is added. Brake pad includes friction material made by means of a method of addition of functional substance that is partially received by the carrying material. Brake pad containing the friction material with the carrying material with high open porosity, onto which functional substance is applied or to which functional substance is added.
EFFECT: reduction of brake noise; improvement of comfort.
