FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to friction materials for braking devices. Powder friction material for brake pad contains powders of graphite, iron, alloyed copper, aluminium oxide, iron sulphide, boron carbide, silicon carbide and calcined asbestos. Method of obtaining a brake pad includes cold pressing of a workpiece from a powder friction material with a force of 400–500 MPa, heating of the resulting workpiece to 980–1,050 °C and dynamic pressing thereof with an energy of 850–950 MJ/m3. Brake pad comprises a working layer of a powder friction material and a bearing layer of iron powder.
EFFECT: quality of friction material is improved, which improves the durability and wear resistance of the brake pad, reduces the damage to the wheel surface and its wear and tear.
