FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: fault current circuit breaker (1) contains the first unit (2) capable to detect fault current in power supply grid and to transmit analogue signal of fault current, the first analogue-to-digital converter (3) to convert analogue signal of fault current to digital signal, the first digital unit (4) for signal processing and the second unit (5) for preset opening of normally-closed contacts (6) in power supply grid in order to provide good resolution of fault current signal in a wide dynamic range. It is envisaged that fault current circuit breaker (1) contains the first tool (7) for preset variable matching of analogue signal of fault current with analogue-to-digital converter (3).
EFFECT: fabrication of fault current circuit breaker with good resolution of fault current signal in a wide dynamic range and exclusion of significant overcorrection characterized by low costs of components; increasing operational availability and reliability of fault current circuit breakers with electronics depending on supply voltage.
