FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves breeding flies, preferably Musca domestica, on a substrate at temperature between 10°C and 40°C, followed by collection of mature larvae and young pupae, drying and grinding in a grinder. The material is then extracted with a Soxhlet system using hexane or a mixture of hexane and dichloromethane in ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 or 3:1 as a solvent in a ratio of 50 g of the ground material per 250 ml of the extracting mixture as the solvent, and repeating extraction 8 to 10 times. The ground material is then separated, the extractant residue is evaporated, reclaimed by distillation and the extractant is distilled. Pure oil without the extractant is then obtained and left to cool to room temperature for 8-16 hours. An antioxidant can be added and the product is taken for storage.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain an extract of larvae and pupae of flies which is rich in saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids.
