FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to metallurgy, and namely to castable alloys based on magnesium and can be used at production of parts for aerospace industry, which operate under action of high loads at temperatures of up to 150°C and 250°C for a short period of time. Castable alloy based on magnesium contains the following, wt %: aluminium 7.5-9.0, zinc 0.2-0.8, manganese 0.15-0.5 and calcium 0.1-0.4, and magnesium is the rest.

EFFECT: alloy is characterised by high mechanical properties, as well as by alloy ignition temperature of at least 650°C, solidus temperature at equilibrium solidification of at least 460°C, volume fraction of Al2Ca phase separations of not higher than 0,75%.
