SUBSTANCE: design of a light-emitting diode comprises a flexible substrate which is a foil and has an inner surface and an outer surface, and a light-emitting diode situated on the inner surface of the flexible substrate, wherein the light-emitting diode is an organic light-emitting diode having an outer surface opposite the surface facing said inner surface of the flexible substrate; a shaping element, having a first bearing element facing the outer surface of the flexible substrate, and a second bearing element facing the outer surface of the light-emitting diode so as to at least partially sandwich the light-emitting diode design. The shaping element is capable of defining the shape of the design of the light-emitting diode and shielding the light-emitting diode from external action.
