SUBSTANCE: method is carried out through further processing of codes of digital output signals of receiving channels of a digital phased antenna array and forming a compressed beam pattern with a normal (uncompressed) beam pattern and combined processing thereof, as well as forming an expanded beam pattern of the phased antenna array.

EFFECT: providing angular superresolution, the measure of which is the width of a compressed antenna beam pattern, reducing the noise error of measuring angular coordinates, and shorter time for scanning a given sector of space by expanding the antenna beam pattern.
