FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes steps of feeding material into portable retorts, drying the material, pyrolysis, calcining, cooling and stabilising the charcoal, wherein drying is carried out at temperature of 160-200°C, pyrolysis is carried out at 300-400°C and calcination is carried out at 500-550°C; given temperatures are controlled and maintained using a temperature sensor which uses a frequency converter to control operation of a fan which controls supply of atmospheric air in a mixture with furnace gases to the retorts of the pyrolysis chamber; after calcination, the charcoal is reloaded into sealed metal vessels for cooling, and the charcoal is stabilised by gradually unsealing the metal vessels.
EFFECT: invention increases output and quality of charcoal while increasing efficiency and reducing the cost of production.
