FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of production of coal from wood. Method of producing charcoal is carried out without air in the retorts of the pyrolysis chamber. Method includes drying the raw material at a temperature of 160–200 °C. After drying, torrefaction of the raw materials is carried out at a temperature of 225–300 °C followed by cooling to a temperature of 15–30 °C. Then pyrolysis is carried out at a temperature of 560–600 °C, after pyrolysis, the coal is cooled in a sealed container to a temperature of 15–30 °C, with the subsequent stabilization of coal. Stabilization of charcoal is carried out by gradual depressurization of the tank. Process of torrefaction and pyrolysis is carried out at a heating rate in the range of 5–15 °C/min.
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the yield of charcoal.
