FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: sampling device for taking samples from melts with melting point of above 600°C, and namely for molten metals or cryolite melts, as well as to a sampling method using this sampling device. The sampling device includes a load-carrying tube having a submerged end and an assembly of the sampling chamber, which is arranged on the submerged end of the load-carrying tube. The above assembly has an inlet opening and a sampling cavity for a melt and is arranged at least partially inside the load-carrying tube, as well as some part of outer surface of the assembly has a connected device arranged inside the load-carrying tube, which is meant for connection of a load-carrying rod. The assembly of the sampling chamber has an internal wall for the sampling cavity and an external wall that encloses the internal wall at least partially at some distance from it so that a hollow space is located between the external and the internal walls. Besides, the connection device has at least one gas flow channel that passes through the external wall of the assembly of the sampling chamber or reaches the external wall. The method consists in the form that the load-carrying rod pushed into the load-carrying tube through an end that is opposite to the submerged end of the load-carrying tube. Then, the load-carrying rod is connected to the connection device of the sampling chamber assembly, and after that, the submerged end of the load-carrying tube is submerged into the melt and the sampling cavity of the sampling chamber assembly is filled with the melt. Then, the sampling chamber assembly or some part of the sampling chamber assembly, which has the connection device, is taken out by means of the load-carrying rod through the load-carrying tube of the load-carrying tube end that is opposite to the submerged end. After some part of the sampling chamber assembly, which has the connection device, is taken out of the load-carrying tube, at which some part of the surface of the sample located in the sampling chamber assembly is brought into direct contact with the environment of the sampling chamber assembly, a rod having a spectrometer is pushed into the load-carrying tube, and sample surface is analysed by means of the spectrometer.

EFFECT: removal of a sample or opening of sample surface without its preliminary preparation.
