FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, roentgenology, traumatology and may be used for diagnosing the condition of a posterior longitudinal ligament of a medium spinal support accompanying thoracic and lumbar spinal injuries. The technique involves administering a radiopaque substance into a spinal canal using an EOC-assisted puncture needle, and performing spondylograms. The radiopaque substance is presented by Ultravist 240 in the amount of 2-3 ml administered from a paramedian incision along an internolateral surface of the spinal canal, into an anterior epidural space of the examined spine.

EFFECT: technique provides performing an non-contact epidurography into the sub- and underlayers that eliminates any side effects, visualising the posterior longitudinal ligament of the medium spinal support and surrounding elements - the presence or absence of the injuries that is of importance to choose a further therapeutic approach.
