FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves surgically eliminating compression applied to the spinal cord. Four electrodes are implanted and electrostimulation is applied in lesion zone. Frontal spinal cord decompression having done, one electrode pair is intraoperatively introduced into epidural space on dura mater above the anterior spinal cord segments below the injured place. The second electrode pair is introduced into epidural space above the posterior spinal cord columns above the lesion level by applying puncture method. Electrostimulation is applied first to anterior and then to posterior spinal cord segments.
EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in restoring disturbed interaction between supraspinal centers and peripheral regions of the central nervous system.
