SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine. An end effector for a surgical cut-off and stapling apparatus. The end effector comprises an elongated pocket that is provided to accommodate a staple cassette and that has a working connection with a surgical cut-off and stapling apparatus. An anvil is movable relative to the elongated pocket and configured for a selective motion between open and closed positions. Tissue is clamped between the anvil and staple cassette placed in the elongated pocket in response to a closing motion applied to the anvil by the cut-off and stapling apparatus. At least one light course is provided on at least one element from the staple cassette and elongated pocket.
EFFECT: light sources can mate with the anvil for providing a visual indication through an anvil segment to indicate a position of the tissue clamped between the anvil and staple cassette.
