FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive industry. Twisted axle comprises two lengthwise levers and tubular one-piece crossbar. Every lengthwise lever is rigidly connected with said crossbar at its one connection areas or is made integral therewith. Crossbar is composed by tubular billet and has central section of twisting flexibility and two connection areas of twisting stiffness. Central section features mainly open U- or V-shape cross-section. Crossbar wall thickness varies along crossbar length from its center to every end. Proposed method comprises cold forming, removing the strains in tubular billet, heating and fast cooling, straining the billet central part and blasting hardening. Straining includes flattening of central section and its flexing.
EFFECT: ruled out concentration of local strains in crossbar.
