FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: method to measure density of volume charge and constant of time of its relaxation in the flow of the dielectric liquid, when an electrically isolated section is identified in the main grounded pipeline, an additional reservoir is created, filled with pumped liquid, a system of two electrodes is placed in it, one of which is grounded, and the second one is electrically connected to the specified electrically isolated section of the pipeline, and voltage is measured on this electrode relative to earth, and density of the volume charge is determined in accordance with the formula ρ=CU/V, where ρ - density of volume charge; C - electric capacitance between specified electrodes; U - voltage on the specified second electrode relative to earth; V - volume of liquid in the specified electrically insulated section of the pipeline. At the same time with the purpose to expand process capabilities they simultaneously measure current passing between the identified electrically isolated section of the pipeline and the specified second electrode, and the value is determined for the constant of time of relaxation of the volume charge in accordance with the formula τ=CU/i, where τ - constant of time of relaxation of volume charge of liquid; i - current between the electrically isolated section of the pipeline and the specified second electrode.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to simultaneously control volume charge and time constant of its relaxation in a flow of dielectric liquid, method makes it possible to create devices for specific conditions of pumping and dimensions of filled reservoirs.
