FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: set of invention relates to automotive industry. Proposed system incorporates adaptive system for automatic maintaining of vehicle speed, device to input required speeds and computation module to identify the distance covered and to define driving time interval. It computes tcc, time tadapt, difference between tcc and tadapt and sets the control signal. Proposed method comprises setting of required speeds, indentifying the section of distance covered whereat driving time interval should be defined, and computing time tcc. The latter is required to cover said section with the use of traditional nonadaptive system of automatic speed control. Time tadapt required actually to cover distance section Si with the help of adaptive speed control system. Difference between tcc and tadapt is computed to set the control signal.
