SUBSTANCE: invention discloses a method of testing a base station, which involves determining, in a transceiver device, the strength of a test signal received through beams; comparing and/or correlating signal strength values detected in the transceiver device, and using the comparison and/or correlation results to determine configuration of the antenna device and the transceiver device and/or detect breakdowns. Comparison of average-strength signals can be employed to detect breakdown of cable connections and beam error. Correlation of non-average signal strength values can be employed to determine beams having the same polarisation. Beam alignment directions and allocation of antennae on sectors can be established by controlling transfer of mobile devices between cells. Frequencies can be allocated to sectors based on a frequency reuse scheme.
EFFECT: inspecting a base station to determine if there are errors in configuration thereof and in determining configuration thereof.
