FIELD: radio engineering. SUBSTANCE: according to one version of measurement of standing-wave ratio ( SWR ) for transmitting antenna in base station of mobile communication system incorporating at least one transmitting antenna proposed method consists in generation of test signal with the aid of test terminal built-in base station but capable of generation of test signal that puts test call applied from outside in response to requirement for measurement of SWR. Then put-in call is generated as test signal and is sent to transmitting antenna. Intensity of direct and reflected signals is measured for transmitting antenna. SWR is computed by difference between intensities of direct and reflected signals. In agreement with another version of method of measurement of SWR for transmitting antenna in base station of mobile communication system this station incorporates at least one transmitting antenna and adjustable attenuator. Signal for test is generated in correspondence with this version with use of terminal built-in base station. In this case test terminal is capable of generation of test signal, converts operational mode to test mode in response to requirement for measurement of SWR, generates test signal and sends this signal to transmitting antenna. Intensities of direct and reflected signals for transmitting antenna are measured, adjustable attenuator is tuned so that intensity of direct signal is equal to intensity of reflected signal.
