FIELD: physics, navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in radio-frequency radiation source locating systems. The direction-finding method involves coherent reception of forward radio-frequency signals with a direction-finding antenna array and reception of the relayed source signal with an additional antenna. High signal detection sensitivity is achieved by finding the cross-correlation function of the forward and relayed signals, and direction-finding is carried out based on analysis of relative phase characteristics of the cross-correlation functions of the relay signal and signals received by each of the direction-finding antennae.
EFFECT: enabling direction-finding of weak signals.
