FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to removal of metals from vacuum gasoil. Invention deals with method, which includes contact of vacuum gasoil, containing metals, with ionic liquid, which does not mix with VGO, with obtaining mixture, which contains vacuum gasoil and ionic liquid which does not mix with VGO, and ionic liquid, which does not mix with VGO contains, at least, one of ionic liquids based on imidazolium, phosphonium or pyridinium; and separation of mixture with obtaining discharge flow of vacuum gasoil and discharge flow of ionic liquid which does not mix with VGO, with discharge flow of ionic liquid which does not mix with VGO containing metal.
EFFECT: reduction of metal content in vacuum gasoil.
