METHOD FOR SPLENIC AUTO-GRAFTING ACCOMPANYING COMBINED GASTRECTOMY IN ONCOLOGICAL PATIENTS Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC A61B17/00 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: removing an organ complex of stomach and spleen, applying digestive anastomoses is followed by a heterotopic splenic transplantation. The organ complex is placed into a container with sterile ice at temperature 0°C. The spleen is washed free from blood through a splenic artery stump with sterile isotonic crystalloid solution cooled down to 12-15°C. A splenic vascular pedicle is separated that is followed by lymph node dissection of a splenic hilum. The spleen is separated from the organ complex. Inner and outer vessels are separated in an iliac region retroperitoneally. Inner iliac artery and vein are transected and secured. Vascular end-to-end anastomoses are formed in the proximal direction: the inner iliac artery is sutured together with the splenic artery, and the inner iliac vein - to the splenic vein.

EFFECT: method enables higher effectiveness of the surgical management ensured by preserving the spleen performing the regulatory functions in the body.
