FIELD: packaging industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to self-adhesive shrink sleeve labels. The method of applying the label on a product comprises the use of a product with a surface having at least one complex curvature. Using the label having a first edge, a contact zone, a heat shrinkable tape with inner and outer surfaces and a layer of contact adhesive on the inner surface of the tape. Bringing into contact with the product of the contact adhesive layer in the contact area. The simultaneous exposure of heat and pressure to the label in a direction from the contact area to the first edge for its adhesion to the product and subjecting the label to shrinkage for it adopts the curvature of the product by means of heated deformable strip.
EFFECT: proposed invention provides tight adjacency of the label to the product of complex shape.
