FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of metallurgy, in particular to magnesium alloys, containing rare earth metals and suitable for application as deformable or cast alloys. Alloy contains, wt %: Y 2,0-6,0, Nd 0.05-4.0, Gd 0-1.0, Dy 0-1.0, Er 0-1.0, Zr 0.05-1.0, Zn+Mn<0.11, Yb 0-0.02, Sm 0-0.04, Al<0.3, Li<0.2, if necessary rare earth metals and heavy rare earth metals, containing each of the following elements: Ce, La, Zn, Fe, Si, Cu, Ag and Cd 0-0.06, Ni 0-0.003, magnesium and admixtures - the remaining part. Total content of Gd, Dy and Er constitutes 0.3-12 wt %. Rate of alloy corrosion, measured in accordance with ASTM B117, constitutes less than 30 mils per year.
EFFECT: alloys possess high processability and/or high ductility, and/or high corrosion characteristics.
