FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for integrated scintillation investigation of a substance. The method employs a deep crater in an anode with a conical bottom, arc current of 30 A, blowing the electrodes and the arc plasma with a gas stream, measuring the temperature of the substance in the crater, estimating temperature of the substance at which matrix elements first appear in the plasma, volatility of chemical elements, boiling point of the substance and molecular composition of molecular compounds evaporated into the plasma from the crater. The obtained results are used to diagnose the investigated substances (powder and microparticles).
EFFECT: enabling determination, besides elementary composition of a substance, of phase characteristics thereof in order to identify and diagnose substances and study physical and chemical interactions of different substances when heated together to high temperatures.
