FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to spectral analysis. During analysis, conditions are created for obtaining scintillation pulses of radiation due to fractional evaporation of chemical elements from a relatively deep crater of an arc discharge electrode, with prevention of interaction (contact) of plasma with substance in the crater, and using the relationship of temperature of the electrode crater and temperature of discharge plasma.
EFFECT: increased sensitivity and accuracy of substance analysis.
