FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protecting steel or aluminium articles from corrosion using a composition, use of which enables to form a protective adhesive organosilicon layer on the metal surface before applying a paint coat. The composition contains, g/l: silane binder containing an amine group 6-15, silane binder containing a vinyl group 3-12, hexafluorozirconic acid (with respect to metal) 0.2-1.2, manganese nitrate (with respect to metal) 0.1-0.6, and/or iron nitrate (with respect to metal) 0.075-0.15, water - the balance. The weight ratio of the binder with an amine group to the binder with a vinyl group in the composition is 1:0.5-0.8.
EFFECT: invention improves corrosion resistance of organosilicon layers while maintaining adhesion of the paint coat and can be used as an alternative to phosphating and chromating compositions.
