FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: proposed is a method of preparing a catalyst for synthesis of carbohydrates through a Fischer-Tropsch reaction which consists of dissolution of precursor salts, addition of a complexing agent, evaporation of the solution, hardening in a muffle furnace, wherein the additional precursor salt constitutes manganese nitrate Mn(NO3)2⋅2H2O, prior to addition of the complexing agent the precursor salts Gd(NO3)3⋅H2O, Mn(NO3)2⋅3H2O, Fe(NO3)3⋅9H2O, taken in molar ration of 1:x:(1-x) wherein x=0.1 to 0.9, are dissolved in deionized water, a monohydrate of citric acid taken in weight ratio to the nitrate solution from 1.8:1 to 3.5:1 is used as the complexing agent, after the citric acid monohydrate is fully dissolved an ammonia solution is added until pH reaches 5.5 to 6.5, and the powder produced after evaporation is hardened at 430 °C for 2 hours and at 650 to 850 °C for 1 to 2 hours.

EFFECT: simplification of the synthesis process through reduction of hardening stages, decrease in expenses for catalyst preparation through reduction of the number of used reagents, time and temperature of heat treatment.
