FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: set of invention relates to metal forming, particularly, to boring threaded holes with simultaneous hardening of hole surface layer in sheet materials. Forming tool is composed of cylindrical rod made of tool material with tapping section. End section of said rod is spherical or flat and perpendicular or inclined to tool axis, or with one or several chamfers. Invention covers the versions of tapping threaded holes with the help of aforesaid tool.
EFFECT: controlled hardening degree, hardened layer depth and roughness of bore surfaces, higher strength.
