SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a positioning method for a navigation device and a navigation device. The positioning method includes steps of receiving a global positioning system signal; reading preceding position, velocity and time data; reading the preceding result of comparing with a map; and calculating current position, velocity and time data in accordance with at least one of the preceding position, velocity and time data and the preceding result of comparing with a map.
EFFECT: improved positioning.
