FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of articles from composites with carbide-metal matrix. Proposed method comprises fabrication of a blank from porous graphitised carbon. Slurry coat based on composition of metalising carbide-forming agent and temporary binder is applied on said blank. Said blank is metalised and blank metal is carbonised by heating and curing in vacuum at carbonisation termination temperature and cooling. In compliance with this invention, said blank is placed inside the retort wherein crucibles are additionally fitted and filled with the same metal. Said metal represents a metalising agent in slurry coat or is formed at its decomposition. At blank heating or at heating and cooling crucibles with metal are heated to temperatures higher than that of the blank. In compliance with preferable version, crucibles are filled with metal powder used for metalising.

EFFECT: simplified process, sufficient surface quality and high degree of metalising.
