FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: production of CSCC comprises the making of blank from porous carbon-bearing material. Slip coating is formed thereon based on composition of silicon nitride or silicon encapsulated in silicon-nitride shell and temporary binder. It is heated and held at 1700-1900°C and cooled in vacuum in vapours of silicon in the retort closed volume at heating of crucibles with silicon to temperature higher than that of siliconised blank. Blank heating from 1300°C to 1650-1700°C is performed at crucible with silicon temperature higher than that of the blank by 10-100°C. Blank heating from 1300°C to 1500-1550°C is performed in stepwise manner with isothermal exposure in said temperature range.
EFFECT: simplified fabrication of large articles from CSCC at sufficient quality.
